We are proud to be the charity partner of the year Drayton Manor 5k and 10k in 2027
Join Midland Mencap at the start line, and support people with a learning disability, their families and carers in the West Midlands
When you run for Midland Mencap you support:
People with a learning disability to live independently in their own home
Access high quality, affordable and accessible housing
Take part in meaningful activities in their local communities.
Unpaid and family carers access support, advice and wellbeing activities.
Your support will make a huge difference for people like Melanie.
After facing barriers to finding work, Melanie received tailored support from Midland Mencap’s PURE employment and education service.
With the right guidance and encouragement, she secured her first-ever job working on reception for a large hotel chain. This important achievement helped her build confidence, develop new skills and take a positive step towards greater independence.
Melanie has now also moved into her own home and is living independently, with support from Midland Mencap’s Housing Care and Support team.
Her journey shows the difference personalised support can make. By fundraising for Midland Mencap, you can help more people with learning disabilities access opportunities, achieve their goals and live the life they choose.
When you join Team Midland Mencap, you will receive:
A limited-edition Midland Mencap Charity running vest.
A fundraising pack and dedicated support and advice from our friendly team.
A fantastic cheer team on the day who will support you every step of your run.
A post-race massage and refreshments in the festival village.
We can’t wait to see you on the start line!
